Intro for Be very afraid of AI
As WordPress deepens its experiments with AI integration, the boundary between automation and authorship grows increasingly porous. This acrostic sonnet reflects on that tension — how intelligent systems watch, classify, and sometimes misjudge creative intent.
That misjudgment is not theoretical: an AI classifier has already suspended four of my WordPress.com sites — two on the same day — with every reinstatement requiring human intervention to overturn the automated decision.
Once the same AI architecture reaches Altervista, also operating under Automattic’s umbrella, the poem’s cautionary voice gains renewed relevance: a reminder to preserve human oversight as platforms advance toward increasingly algorithmic governance.
